Participating in the groundbreaking for the Wisner Township water project were (l-r): Tom Paige, Bay County Department of Water and Sewer, construction Contractor Avery Sterling, Tuscola Board of Public Works and Yes! to Safe Water citizens committee Lisa Valentine, Wanda Dziwura with USDA Rural Development, township Supervisor Jim MacFarlane, Tuscola County Commissioner Roger Allen, Mark Norton with Civil Engineering, township representatives Carol Jacoby, Annette Rieck, Arlene Duke, and John Billette with Civil Engineering.
The project to bring municipal water from Bay County to parts of Wisner Township officially began in October with a groundbreaking at the Wisner Township Hall.
The event started with documents being signed to close the U.S.D.A – Rural Development loan, followed by a pre-construction conference with Contractor Sterling Excavating, and then finally the long-awaited groundbreaking as the symbolic start of construction.
